One Africa TV is excited to announce that our #TodayOnOne weekday bulletin will be extended

from 30 minutes to a 60-minute time slot. This is effective from World Press Freedom Day, 3

May 2021.

“Our decision was driven by our relentless pursuit to increase the positive impact we have in Namibia and its communities through trustworthy, independent local content.”, said Taleni Shimhopileni, Content Manager and Director of One Africa TV.

Maggie Forcelledo Paz, Managing Producer of #TodayOnOne added: “This is a milestone for the #TodayOnOne team especially since the launch coincides with World Press Freedom Day which is commemorated annually on 3 May. We continue to appreciate the fact that we can still without interference disseminate factual and relevant information, as Namibia retains her number one position for press freedom in Africa. Our Motto is ‘Always There’ and we will continue to be there and keep the nation up to date with the latest current affairs as no Namibian should be left out when it comes to access to information. Keep on watching, it just gets better”.

The new format will include coverage of community stories, current affairs, sports, business and economy, agriculture, education and trending local social media commentary.

One Africa TV produced and broadcasted it’s first news bulletin on 27 April 2007.

#TodayOnOne, the current format of One Africa TV’s weekday news bulletin, broadcasted more than 941 bulletins since its launch in October 2017.

One Africa TV is available on over 300,000 GOtv (channel 90) and DStv (Channel 284) decoders across Namibia. The Channel maintained more than 99.99% uptime over the past 3 years. OATV’s average annual downtime of less than 5 hours p.a., was primarily during off peak hours and due to equipment maintenance, a satellite uplink change and office move.

“We salute our team of journalists and broadcast staff, who passionately ensure that #TodayOnOne is ‘Always There’ for our viewers and communities. We thank our clients who advertise with us, enabling us to continue making a meaningful contribution”, said Stefan Hugo, CEO for One Africa TV and the TribeFire Studios group.
